How it works:

Heat Tape Pro
The backbone of your roof and gutter de-icing system, HeatTapePRO™ is the only heat cable with a GlowCap, so you know it’s working.
Gutter Separator Clips
Gutter Separator clips are what hold your cables spaced from each other and in position. If you do a ‘double-run’ in your gutters, use these.
Cable Guard
Don’t let sharp points and edges ruin your new system! CableGuard™ pinches around your cable, protecting it at the top and bottom of downspouts.
Heat Tape Controller
ThermaCord™ adds greater efficiency to your de-icing system by automatically turning your cable on and off when the weather calls for it.

How much Heat Tape to buy for your Gutter System

Measuring and calculating the amount of heat tape needed to protect your gutters
Calculating the amount of heat tape you will need for your gutter and downspout installation is relatively straight forward as long as you understand a few simple variables and have the ability to take measurements of the area. See below for measuring tips and things to consider for your gutter and downspout heat tape installation.
Measuring Tips
For Gutter & Downspout Heat Tape Installation

Gutter System Length
Take the length of your gutter, multiply by 2 to account for a gutter double-run

Downspout Length
Homes with multiple stories will require additional heat tape footage

Middle Downspout
If you have a downspout in the middle of your gutter you’ll need additional heat tape for it

Downspout Extensions
Downspout extensions direct water further away from the foundation. Add cable footage to account for these extensions.Remember to 2x if you are doubling back.

Drains & Pipes
If you plan on maintaining an open drainage path through any pipes or drains associated with your gutter system, add footage accordingly. Remember to 2x if you are doubling-back.

Power Source Location
Always account for the distance to the outlet when calculating the heat tape length. Remember, Heat Tape Pro™ includes a 10-foot power cord in addition to the heated cable itself.
